The Mosquitoes of El Salvador1

Henry W. Kumm AND Hernán Zúniga

1. Eight anophelines were found among the fifty-eight species of mosquitoes that were identified in El Salvador.
2. The two commonest were A. albimanus and A. pseudopunctipennis, the latter being relatively more abundant in El Salvador than it had been in Costa Rica.
3. As in other countries, A. albimanus favored the lowlands while A. pseudopunctipennis was taken at all elevations.

Received May 14, 1942.
1 The studies and observations on which this paper is based were conducted with the support and under the auspices of the International Health Division of The Rockefeller Foundation and the Dirección General de Sanidad of the Republic of El Salvador.
