This, the eleventh edition of Manson's Tropical Diseases, is a worthy successor to previous editions and an improvement upon them. The author has altered somewhat the arrangement of the book and has added chapters upon the preparation for life in the tropics which are most valuable to those who expect to live in such regions. He has also stressed the effect of a tropical environment upon the symptomatology of the common diseases and the fact that parasitic infections are so frequently encountered as complications of other disease processes, thus confusing the clinical picture and rendering diagnosis more difficult.

The reviewer has read this edition with much pleasure and has found it up-to-date and most accurate in statement. In a work of this size and treating of so many different conditions, some omissions and errors are to be expected, but this work is remarkably free from both.
