COMMENT Plague in the United States. The June 23rd, 1940, number of Public Health Reports, contains an exhaustive contribution by Dr. Brock C. Hampton, of the United States Public Health Service, upon plague in the United States. After reviewing the out-breaks of human plague in this country, Dr. Hampton discusses sylvatic plague and gives a very valuable summary of the distribution of this type of plague in the United States. Up to the date of writing, he states that wild-rodent plague has been found to exist in ten states, i.e. in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
