A Textbook of Clinical Pathology

Edited by ROY KRACKE, pp. 567, illustrated. 1938. William Wood & Company, Baltimore

L. C. Scott

This book has been on the reviewer's shelf for some time along with other texts of like nature. He has had opportunity of consulting and comparing the work with other publications on clinical pathology. Primarily a clinician, he has a keen appreciation of the work of the laboratory, and as a teacher in the clinic, a fair understanding of the needs of the average student and the necessity for brevity and clarity of presentation. The two latter qualities are eminently characteristic of this excellent work and the contributions of Kracke's eleven collaborators has the usual effect of accuracy and precision obtainable only when a large amount of information is divided among a number of specialists. It is obvious that each of the writers understands his subject thoroughly and has presented his material in excellent language, easily understood, with clearly defined procedures suitable for the practitioner and the undergraduate student.
