The Etiology of Trachoma

By LOUIS A. JULIANELLE. Illustrated. Pp. I-XV. I-241. The Commonwealth Fund. Humphrey Milford, Oxford University Press, London. 1938

Chas. F. Craig

An excellent review of the data concerning the etiology of trachoma, together with a complete bibliography covering about 50 pages. After a very careful and judicious survey of the many contributions regarding the etiology of this important infection, the author concludes that: "All these properties suggest that the infectious agent is a virus."

All who are interested in the subject should read this work which contains a very thorough review of our knowledge and theories regarding the etiology of trachoma.
