The great increase in the number of recognized instances of parasitic infection in the United States during the past few years has emphasized the importance of the subject of Clinical Parasitology to the practising physician, as well as to the public health officer and laboratory diagnostician, and has pointed out the necessity for all those concerned to have some intelligent first hand information regarding such infections. Evidently the subject has not hitherto received the attention it merits. Hence, especially welcome at this time is this publication on clinical parasitology by two eminent authors, Drs. Craig and Faust, internationally recognized for their authoritative knowledge in their respective fields of Protozoology and Helminthology. They especially are to be congratulated on having produced such a comprehensive and useful work in one volume which includes discussions upon the biology, pathological significance, methods of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of all the human protozoan and helminthic infections.
