It has been many years since any book upon the blood has appeared in English and during this time much has been learned regarding the histology of the blood and the nature of the changes occurring in this vital fluid. In the present volume the authors have placed upon record all of this new knowledge in a simple, authoritative manner and special attention has been paid to the blood picture in conditions in which the blood changes are merely symptomatic.
The work is divided into three parts. Part I contains a discussion of the constituents of the blood, the methods for their study and the diagnostic significance of the results obtained from such study; Part II includes the hematological findings in the disorders and diseases of the hematopoietic system; and Part III the hematological findings of diseases not primarily of the blood.
