Yellow Fever. An Epidemiological and Historical Study of Its Place of Origin

This splendid work upon the epidemiology and place of origin of yellow fever was completed just before the death of Dr. Carter and in the note by the editors they state that it "was completed only by working throughout an illness severe enough to confine him to bed for long intervals, and, during his last year, continuously." The book may thus be considered as the "swan song" of one of the greatest of modern authorities upon yellow fever, and it well exemplifies the scientific acumen of the writer, and his painstaking methods of ascertaining the truth or falsehood of the various problems associated with this interesting disease, which were always noticeable in his contributions to medical science.

The book is divided into three parts as follows: Part I, The Epidemiology of Yellow Fever; Part II, Diseases Which Have or Might Have Been Confused with Yellow Fever in the Past; and Part III, The Place of Origin of Yellow Fever.
