Infection of Monkeys with Donovan Organisms by Injections of Tissue from Human Lesions of Granuloma Inguinale1

W. A. DeMonbreun AND E. W. Goodpasture
From the Department of Pathology, Vanderbilt University Medical School, Nashville, Tennessee

1. Three Macacus rhesus monkeys inoculated with Donovan organisms from a case of granuloma inguinale showed evidence of an abortive infection with this pathogenic agent.
2. A biological method is thus afforded for testing any microorganism which might be cultivated from these lesions and suspected of being the etiological agent.

1 Aided by a grant from the National Research Council.
