The tenth edition of this now classic, "A Textbook of Medicine," is available in both one and two volumes. In the preface the editors list a great number of articles in the 10th edition which were not covered in previous editions. The contributors are outstanding investigators and clinicians in a wide variety of medical subjects. This reviewer was particularly interested in the book from the standpoint of its suitability as a text for clinicians primarily interested in tropical medicine. In this connection it can be emphasized that the infectious diseases of both temperate and tropical zone importance are exceedingly well represented in the text. This is particularly true in the case of the mycoses. Infections caused by parasites are covered in many instances as thoroughly and in as great depth as may be found in some textbooks of tropical medicine.
