After publishing the large treatise entitled Human Parasites and Parasitic Diseases, the author prepared a reduced version containing the basic facts for medical students under the title Parasitology (Protozoology and Helminthology) in Relation to Clinical Medicine. The latter was rapidly exhausted, which made possible the present second edition. New information and new illustrations have been added to the second edition without materially increasing the size.

The book is divided into four sections. The introduction is concerned with terminology and general principles. The fourth section is an appendix which deals with techniques, culture methods, protozoa of uncertain status, and two full-page illustrations showing the location of parasites within the body. The two sections on protozoology and helminthology constitute the main part of the book. In these sections the parasites of man have been classified and described under the following headings: geographical distribution, habitat, morphology and life cycle, pathogenicity and clinical features, diagnosis, therapeusis and prophylaxis.
