The International Conference on Venoms was very stimulating to those of us who attended. Not that the material presented was new, in fact much of it had appeared previously in the literature; nor because all those who presented papers were venomologists, but because of the exchange of ideas that took place. This exchange of thoughts is the heart of any symposium and would be of real value to those who did not have the privilege of attending. In this respect "Venoms" will fail to satisfy its readers. It is regrettable that the discussions which followed the presentation of the papers were not included as is frequently done in publishing the proceedings of a meeting of this kind. A good example of a symposium adequately reported is given in "Cold Injury, Transactions of the Second Conference, etc., 1952", sponsored by the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation. It is gratifying to see Mr. Klauber's remarks (p. 273) included.
