Instructions to Authors

Manuscripts and correspondence should be addressed to: The Editor, The American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 3088 Briarcliff Road, Suite A-i 1, Atlanta, GA 30329, USA.

Cover Letter: A cover letter should accompany manuscripts indicating 1) name, address, telephone and FAX numbers of the corresponding author, 2) title of the paper, 3) significance of the paper to the readers of the Journal, 4)signatures of all contributing authors indicating that they have participated in and concur with the submission, 5) a statement that the material has not and will not be submitted for publication elsewhere, and 6) written disclosure of any relationships or support which might be perceived as constituting a conflict of interest.

Manuscript: Research papers, clinical case reports, technical reports, comprehensive and authoritative reviews, diagnostic exercises, short reports, letters to the editor, and book reviews will be considered. Only original papers written in English will be considered.

Submission: Submit an original plus three paper copies of the manuscript and provide an electronic copy on a IBM-compatible diskette. The text should be typed or printed on one side of the page, double-spaced on 8.5 X 11 inch white paper of good quality, leaving a margin of 1 inch on all sides. Also, double-space table and figure legends, tabular material and references. Number all pages consecutively, starting with the title page. Do not fold or staple the manuscript. It is strongly recommended that authors familiarize themselves with the Journal by reviewing a recent issue, photocopy the Author Checklist, and submit it with their manuscripts to help ensure that their material is in the correct Journal style and format.
