Production of Monoclonal Antibodies for the Identification of a Strain of Trypanosoma cruzi

Mouse monoclonal antibodies (MAb) were produced against antigen from epimastigote forms of the Montalvania 17 strain of Trypanosoma cruzi. Several T. cruzi-specific MAb ware obtained, some of which were capable of discriminating between different T. cruzi strains.
