W. D. Tigertt, Editor

The JOURNAL review of the second edition of this atlas specified that it was "one of one of the best available for students, teachers, laboratory technicians, pathologists, and researchers dealing with human parasites." This statement is no longer true because there now is a better one—the third edition of the same Ash and Orihel monograph.

The features producing the above quoted review of the second edition have been retained and expanded in the third. Considerable attention has been given to the opportunistic parasites and to the results of exotic eating habits. The scope can be appreciated best by those who have spent long hours puzzling over the "facts and artifacts" seen in preparations of blood, feces, and urine.

A welcome companion to this edition is the Human Parasitology Teaching Slide Set, which contains 160 photomicrographs. These are copies of the slides from which illustrations in the text were prepared. All are of excellent quality and are contained in a spiral binder.
