Post-Editorial Ruminations

W. D. Tigertt, Editor

The stature of any journal in the world scientific community is a direct function of the quality of the original articles published, whether the subject range be catholic or narrow.

Most not-for-profit journals utilize one or another form of peer review for manuscripts dealing with original work. In the JOURNAL, the composition of the office of the editor and of the Editorial Board is published in each issue. In each volume, a list of the many other scientists who have served as referees is published.

At the end of 6 years, it is fitting that I again recognize all these many individuals who have generously given of their time to read and offer thoughtful evaluations on the original papers submitted to the JOURNAL. With this support, the reputation of "The Official Organ of The American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene" has been in safe hands.
