Style Guide for Authors

W. D. Tigertt, Editor

The JOURNAL is the official organ of the American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and publishes articles describing original research and health practices. The JOURNAL is published monthly, in 2 sequentially numbered volumes each year. It is presumed that manuscripts submitted for publication have not been published previously and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. If a manuscript is accepted for publication, it is presumed that no part of the article will be published elsewhere without the approval of the Editor. Manuscripts should be sent to the Editor, W. D. Tigertt, 15 Charles Plaza, Suite 2202, Baltimore, Maryland 21201, USA. Manuscripts are edited for clarity, conciseness, and conformity to JOURNAL style. Authors are encouraged to study the JOURNAL for style before submitting manuscripts.

Manuscripts should be reproduced on a typewriter or printer with a new black ribbon, in English, on 1 side of 81/2 x 11 in. paper, and submitted in duplicate. Pages must be numbered. Use only 1 type style and print at 10 letters per inch (10 pitch).
