The Treatment of Cases of Ascariasis with Piperazine Citrate1

WITH OBSERVATIONS OF THE Effect of the DRUG ON OTHER HELMINTHIASES

Departments of Microbiology, Public Health and Pediatrics, Louisiana State University School of Medicine and the Charity Hospital of Louisiana, New Orleans, La.

The efficacy of piperazine citrate (Antepar) for the elimination of light and heavy infections with Ascaris lumbricoides over a wide range of dosage was demonstrated. No evidence of intolerance of the drug was observed in children during therapy with high dosage.
