To the Editor:

We, not you, have made an error in our paper "Distribution of Bunyamwera serogroup viruses in North America, 1956–1984" by Calisher et al., which appeared in Am. J. Trop. Med. Hyg., 35: 429–443. The last sentence on p. 439 and the next sentence should have read: "While collection and processing of mosquitoes from which TEN virus has come have excluded Culicoides species, Francy (personal communication) showed that CV virus replicates in mosquitoes but not in Culicoides variipennis. This work also showed that MS and LOK viruses replicate in hares (Lepus californicus) but CV virus does not, and that MD and CV, but not LOK, viruses replicate in rabbits."
