Journal Referees

This list terminated as of 31 July 1985, when this November issue of the Journal went to press. All of the 180 articles in Volume 34 have been seen by the colleagues listed below. These referees also have seen an additional 322 manuscripts that are still under review or have been rejected.

Members of the Editorial Board, listed on the opposite inside cover, despite heavy teaching and research programs, field trips, sabbaticals, and illnesses have each seen and served as referees on an average of ten manuscripts. Often this has required that the same manuscript be seen more than once. In some instances, these referees have suggested extensive revisions in manuscripts, particularly in those from authors who do not have English as a primary language. They also have served, either collectively, or as members of ad hoc groups, or singly to advise the editor on a variety of problems.
