The second addition of the atlas by Rasner and Khan is for all practitioners. This book has a broad audience since it deals with perhaps the most difficult area in skin disease, that of appropriate differential diagnosis. One of the major strengths of this book is the excellence of the color prints and the representative diseases within the volume.

This book is highly recommended as a diagnostic adjunct. One assumes that this is the basic intent of the authors, since very little in regard to therapy is included. This makes its usefulness in practice even broader, being appropriate in many areas of the world (where varying therapeutic modalities and preparations might make a therapeutic section less valuable). What is even more remarkable is the low cost of this volume in view of its excellence in color reproduction. It is strongly recommended, and I predict that it will find broad acceptance by physicians of every persuasion, generalists or specialists.
