As the authors emphasize, this "Abregé" is intended to be used by beginner students and, therefore, is voluntarily made short. However, the readers will find the information methodically chosen and adequate.

Each disease is approached, first with a concise definition, then an overview of its geographic distribution and importance. The morphology of the causal parasite is described briefly with emphasis on the most characteristic features. To prepare the student for a better understanding of the clinical aspects of the disease, the biology of the parasite is presented with pertinent details. A diagrammatic sketch accompanies the text whenever necessary. The clinical manifestations of the disease, its diagnosis, its treatment and its prophylaxis follow in the same comprehensively simple style to complete the discussion. The student is presented with a compact package of knowledge which is easy to digest. Unfortunately, not all the material is entirely up-to-date.One serious example of this is
