Antibodies to Snowshoe Hare Virus of the California Group in the Snowshoe Hare (Lepus Americanus) Population of Nova Scotia^*

Infectious Diseases Research Unit, the Izaak Walton Killam Hospital for Children, and the Department of Microbiology, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and the National Arbovirus Reference Service, Department of Medical Microbiology, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Serological study showed the presence of antibodies to snowshoe hare virus in 6–14% of snowshoe hares (Lepus americanus) sampled in Nova Scotia. This report extends the known range of this virus in North America.
