Antigenic group: Ungrouped.

Original source: Isolated by D. K. Lvov et al. at Moscow, USSR, from pool of 300 nymphs of Haemaphysalis longicornis collected by hand on 25 May 1971 at Khasansk Region, Primorye Territory, USSR, Let. 42°30'N, Long. 130°41'E. Habitat: Nursery of spotted deer. Storage: Stored alive in refrigerator at 4°C.

Method of isolation in laboratory: Ticks ground in Hanks' balanced salt solution containing 10% rabbit serum. Inoculated 0.01 ml ic into 2-day-old mice.

Validity of isolation: Virus reisolated. Also, virus isolate different from those existing in the laboratory.
