Serum glycoprotein electrophoretic fractions as well as protein bound hexose and seromucoid levels were measured in 21 male Egyptian patients before and after treatment for schistosomiasis, and in 8 normal controls. Results indicate that
1 and
-glycoprotein were significantly higher while ß-glycoprotein was lower in bilharzial patients than in controls. Protein-bound hexose and seromucoid levels were also significantly elevated in the patients. After treatment, the levels of these fractions approached those of the controls.
