A Report of a Conference on Newer Immunologic Approaches to Schistosomiasis^*

A conference on newer immunologic approaches to schistosomiasis was held in April 1975; 21 participants from 9 countries attended. Knowledge which had been acquired primarily in the last 3 years concerning immune responses in schistosomiasis was reviewed and discussed by a group of investigators whose training was primarily in immunology. The general areas of discussion concerned antigens, antibodies, cell-mediated immunity, resistance to reinfection, and mechanisms of immunity.
