At last the long awaited revision of the original "Jewel of Medical Mycology" has appeared in that Saunders has just issued this new volume of the Manual of Clinical Mycology. All students of medical and laboratory mycology have long been awaiting the updating of this volume which has been so valuable to all of us for reference, for teaching, and so forth. Many of us have urged Drs. Conant and Smith to speed the revision over the years and in all honesty, some of us doubted it would ever be accomplished. But we are all delighted that here it is in print.

The authors have again compiled a manual that is indespensible for the practicing Medical Mycologist. The third edition is approximately twice the size of the previous editions, reflecting the inclusion of the current knowledge in the field of Medical Mycology. The authors again liberally use illustrations to impress upon the reader many major points.
