A survey was made to obtain more information on the prevalence and distribution of histoplasmin sensitivity in Uganda. Skin-testing was done with histoplasmin and coccidioidin in 417 children and 727 adults. Only 44 histoplasmin reactions were found, ranging from nil to 10% of the population of the districts of the country. Ethnic and tribal origins of the tested people was studied also. Analysis of employment showed that those reacting were most commonly found among sawmill workers. Further studies are indicated to clarify this unexpected observation.
