From 1965 to 1967 in Panamá, 2,424 bats of 21 species were captured in several different harborages, and their organs examined for Histoplasma capsulatum by culturing. There were differences in the rates of infection among the species, and there were also differences in the rates of infection among different colonies of the same species.
