Department of Biological Sciences, California State College, Dominguez Hills, Gardena, and Immaculate Heart College, Los Angeles, California

Oncomelania formosana were irradiated with 5,000 to 20,000 R and mated with nonirradiated snails. Complete sterility and mortality within 6 months was found in the 20,000 R snails. Other effects on all three dosages used were temporary sterility, reduced fertility, and increased mortality rate.
