Pulmonary Function in Patients with Early Asymptomatic Schistosomiasis before and after Treatment with Sodium Antimony Dimercaptosuccinate (Astiban®)*

Pulmonary-function studies in 11 early asymptomatic cases of schistosomiasis, before and after treatment with sodium antimony dimercaptosuccinate, suggest that early schistosomiasis may be accompanied by measurable though mild impairment of pulmonary function in the absence of clinical or radiologic evidence of pulmonary involvement.
