Growth of Phlebotomus (Sand Fly) Fever Viruses in Hamster-Embryo Tissue Culture

A. R. Salim*
National Institute for Medical Research, Mill Hill, London, N.W. 7, England

The multiplication of some Phlebotomus-fever viruses in hamster-embryo tissue culture was described. It was found that these cells supported the growth of all strains tested, some of which produced CPE. It was suggested that these cells may be a good choice for the production of tissueculture vaccines against Phlebotomus fever.
