This small book deals with more than 40 years of experience in the techniques of studying human malaria and of inducing it in mosquito vectors and human subjects. During this period a great amount of information has been obtained from the experimental study of malaria conducted in such laboratories as the one in which the authors work. Their experience with 13,000 induced human cases, over 100,000 infected mosquitoes, all of the human species and many of the strains of the parasite, and many species of mosquitoes give them an authoritative background seldom equalled.
The text material is divided into four main sections. Section 1 deals with the preparation and staining of blood films and is especially good, reflecting the experience and wisdom of two of the masters in this field.
