M. H. M. Abdulcader*, P. Rajakone{dagger}, K. Rajendran{ddagger} AND Lucian Aponso§

Distribution of Wuchereria bancrofti microfilaremia in Ceylon by age, sex and houses is detailed. The microfilaremia rate increases with age up to 15 years after which it remains more or less constant; for those under 15 years the rate is significantly lower than for those over 15 years. The rates are more or less the same for both sexes below 24 years after which the rate for males is significantly higher than that for females. Analysis of microfilaremia by houses shows that in 19.1% of houses there was more than one case of microfilaremia.
