Microscopic Diagnosis of the Parasites of Man

The book is designed as a diagnostic manual, not as a parasitology textbook, and, in general, it is a good reference manual for anyone engaged in laboratory diagnosis of parasitologic infections. Parasites are grouped according to their location in the body, and the type of body material to be examined into intestinal parasites and blood and tissue parasites. From the standpoint of the laboratory, this is a more logical arrangement than the traditional classification of protozoa and helminths.

Sections on techniques and methods for examination of feces, urine, sputum, blood and other body materials are included with many personal evaluations by the author of the various procedures discussed. This portion of the book should be of interest and value to the technologists, although experienced workers may not be completely in accord with the suggestions and comments of the author. The technical section also includes valuable information on the use of the microscope.
