The trivalent antimony compounds stibophen and sodium dimercaptosuccinate were shown to be much more effective against adult Schistosoma mansoni worms in mice when administered in a series of small closely spaced injections than when the total dose was given in fewer injections over the same period of treatment. The beneficial effects of feeding a purified type of diet were also demonstrated.
