Isolation of Histoplasma Capsulatum from Bats of El Salvador

Histoplasma capsulatum was recovered from organs and fecal contents of 10 Artibeus jamaicensis and 1 Phyllostomus discolor trapped in El Salvador. These recoveries establish the existence of natural infection in bats outside the Isthmus of Panama.
