A natural infection of Schistosoma haematobium was diagnosed at necropsy in a young male chimpanzee (Pan satyrus). Parasitic involvement was present in the urinary bladder, rectum, lungs, liver, appendix and mesenteric venules. This is believed to be the first reported infection of S. haematobium in this species.
* The Principles of Laboratory Animal Care as promulgated by the National Society for Medical Research were observed in this study.
