Julio de Mucha-Macías AND Imelda Sánchez-Spíndola
Sección de Arbovirus, Instituto Nacional de Virologia de la Secretaría de Salubridad y Asistencia, México, D.F., México

The first two human cases of laboratory-acquired infection with Mucambo virus are reported. This virus is related to that causing Venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis. The HI and N tests performed with the sera from the two cases showed that both infections were caused by strain BE AN 8007. One of these cases occurred in an individual who had received Berge VEE vaccine one year previously. Clinical descriptions of the cases are given.
