Leptospira Ballum Infection in a Shrew (Blarina Brevicauda Brevicauda)*

Leptospira ballum was isolated from the kidney of one of three shrews (Blarina brevicauda brevicauda) live-trapped in Southeastern Pennsylvania. It is the first such isolation from a shrew in the United States.
