Notes on Anopheles Earlei and Other American Species of the Anopheles Maculipennis Complex

In North America it now appears that the maculipennis complex is composed of at least four species; occidentalis Dyar and Knab, aztecus Hoffman, freeborni Aitken, and earlei Vargas, which can be recognized in the majority of cases on adult, larval, and pupal characters.
